What is Kettle?

Kettle is an NFT marketplace for luxury watches. Every watch on the platform is backed 1:1 with its physical counterpart in the Kettle Vault. On Kettle, you can trade digitally like you would NFTs (easily buy/sell on secondary, or borrow/lend on watches) or redeem from the vault at any time. If you want to wear the watch on your wrist, we’ll ship it express anywhere in the world, fully insured.

What does “Everything Backed 1:1” mean?

Every watch on the Kettle platform is an NFT paired with a physical watch, stored in the Kettle Vault. If you own the NFT, you have an ownership claim of the watch. As long as the watch is kept digitally as an NFT, it will remain locked in the vault. At any time, you can trade in your digital watch for its physical counterpart.

Why trade digitally?

Buying-and-selling on eBay can be a hassle. It can take up to 2 weeks for the transaction to fully process between credit card holding periods, waiting for funds to settle, or waiting for FedEx to deliver the watch to your doorstep. If your goal is to build wealth in watches or quickly resell the watch, the NFTs will quickly become your best friend. The headaches that come with delays in shipping times, only to re-package and ship elsewhere to another end customer, are removed when things stay in the digital world.

What are grace periods?

If you miss your repayment date, you'll have an additional 30 day "grace period" to repay your loan. Loans that enter a grace period will be subject to pay a penalty fee: the interest rate will be 2x the APR in the initial loan agreement. This increased interest rate will only apply across the interest accrued throughout the 30 day grace period, not the initial loan term.

What happens if a loan defaults?

Failure to repay your loan entirely (including the 30-day grace period) will result in your asset being defaulted. The lender can enter the claim portal to deposit the NFT into their account.

How do I know the watches are authentic?

We source our watches directly from trusted luxury retailers and distributors in our network. In addition, our team of authenticators doubly inspect each watch. This is how we stamp our 100% Authenticity Guarantee for every watch on the Kettle marketplace - or your money back.

How do I redeem for the physical watch?
