Welcome to Kettle

The modern luxury watch experience.

Revolutionizing the Watch Industry with Blockchain Technology

The watch market is centuries-old, and significantly favors the players who have been in the industry for generations. Whether you are a collector, or a re-seller trying to make a business in the watch trade, you are at a disadvantage if you do not have relationships with the right stakeholders.

Although the watch market has become more digitized over time, it is still incredibly inefficient. Buying online is riddled with fraud, exorbitant fees, and unnecessary holding periods waiting for funds to settle.

Bringing a Stable Asset Class to Crypto

Crypto is volatile. NFTs had their moment and they will probably be back, but likely never the same. Notwithstanding, the NFT craze left a powerful footprint in the digital asset realm. Financial infrastructure built to support trading NFTs came in all shapes and sizes: permissionless bids, peer-to-peer-lending, perpetuals markets, indexes, and more.

NFT Finance has been stress tested for years now. If these markets can flourish even in bear markets for PFPs, they deserve to be put to use in disrupting some of the world's oldest and most proven asset classes. FYI it just so happens that the watch market has outpaced the S&P 500 over the past 5 years.

Why Watches?

The watch market shares a lot of overlap with NFTs. Some watches are rarer than others: Rolex manufactures about 3,500 of its Pepsi model per year (at least for now) whereas a "grail" like F.P. Journe only produces about 800 annually, total. Watch brands cultivate their own communities of collectors, with allocations from Associated Dealers acting like a whitelist for a new NFT mint. Each market is comprised of collectors and re-sellers, with an up-and-coming generation making a business of the latter.

NFTs, with the suite of financial tools available to trade, are just a more efficient version of the watch market. Beginning with luxury watches, we will mint thousands of watches on chain, and bring Real World Asses to crypto at an unprecedented scale.

With that's let's change the mainstream perception of NFTs. People think we are crazy, and that's because a lot of us in this space are, but the long-term implications of NFT technology are inevitable. Luxury watches will write the next chapter of Web3.
